N Biren Singh Credits Amit Shah for Restoring Peace in Manipur on His 61st Birthday

Imphal: Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has credited Union Home Minister Amit Shah for playing a decisive role in restoring peace and unity in Manipur during one of the state’s most turbulent phases.

Extending birthday greetings to Shah on his 61st birthday, Singh expressed deep gratitude for the Home Minister’s intervention amid the ethnic unrest that has gripped Manipur since May 2023.

“Manipur remains deeply grateful for your steadfast support, especially during our most testing times, and for your efforts in fostering peace and unity amongst communities,” Singh wrote on social media platform X, formerly Twitter.

His remarks came as Manipur continues to struggle with ongoing tensions between the Meitei and Kuki communities, which have led to widespread displacement and loss of lives.

The birthday messages also underscored Amit Shah’s influence across the Northeast, with Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma praising his “visionary leadership” and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma describing him as a “mentor and guide” who has “always led from the front.”

Singh concluded his message by lauding Shah’s “unwavering dedication to the nation” and wished him continued strength and wisdom to guide the country forward.
