MORIGAON, Oct 3: The first round of training for personnel assigned to count votes for the upcoming bye-election to the 09-Nagaon Parliamentary Constituency was held at the District Library Auditorium in Morigaon on Friday as the district administration intensified preparations for the counting process.
The training was conducted under the supervision of Morigaon District Commissioner and District Election Officer Srishti Singh and covered procedures, protocols and guidelines prescribed by the Election Commission of India for vote counting.
Addressing the personnel, Singh stressed the importance of accuracy, confidentiality and impartiality in carrying out their duties. She directed them to follow the prescribed procedures strictly and ensure that counting was conducted smoothly, transparently and in an orderly manner.
The session familiarised the designated personnel with their responsibilities and the procedures to be followed during counting.
Additional District Commissioner Dr Nilakhi Baishya, Assistant Commissioner Ankita Dutta, Election Officer Gunjana Saikia and other officials attended the training programme.
