Voting in the Nagaon Lok Sabha by-election recorded a turnout of 37.82 per cent by 11 am on Tuesday, with Laharighat registering the highest polling percentage among the constituency’s eight Assembly segments at 42.49 per cent.
Samaguri recorded 40.39 per cent turnout, followed by Rupohihat at 39.62 per cent and Dhing at 38.48 per cent.
Morigaon recorded 37.25 per cent polling, while Jagiroad stood at 37.06 per cent. Raha registered 34.35 per cent turnout and Nagaon-Batadroba recorded the lowest figure at 30.54 per cent.
Polling continued across the constituency, with election authorities deploying personnel and security arrangements at polling stations to facilitate voting.
The Nagaon Lok Sabha constituency comprises eight Assembly segments — Dhing, Jagiroad, Laharighat, Morigaon, Nagaon-Batadroba, Raha, Rupohihat and Samaguri.
