A man has been accused of allegedly collecting money from a resident of Assam’s Nagaon district by falsely claiming that the amount was required to purchase liquor for the district’s Superintendent of Police.
The accused, identified as Riyazul Islam of Garajan Futaljar, allegedly approached Fakar Uddin Ahmed and demanded money, telling him that the funds were being collected to buy liquor for the Nagaon Superintendent of Police.
According to the complaint, Riyazul Islam also claimed that he was closely associated with the district’s SP and allegedly used that assertion to persuade the complainant to hand over the money.
Following the alleged incident, Fakar Uddin Ahmed lodged a First Information Report (FIR) at Rupahihat Police Station, accusing Riyazul Islam of seeking money by misusing the name of the senior police official.
The complainant has requested the police to carry out a detailed investigation into the allegations and initiate appropriate legal action against the accused for allegedly using the Nagaon SP’s name to solicit money.
