Nagaon: Naharkatia High School and Missa High School emerged champions in the girls’ and boys’ categories, respectively, at the Inter-District U-17 School Hockey Tournament, which concluded today at Md Tayabullah Hockey Stadium in Nagaon.
In the girls’ final, Naharkatia HS delivered a dominant performance, defeating Dalgaon HS School of Darrang 8-0 to lift the trophy. Meanwhile, in the boys’ final, Missa High School overpowered Tengaigaon HS School, Bongaigaon with a 4-0 victory to claim the championship.

The award ceremony was graced by Director of Sports and Youth Welfare Ankur Bharali and Arjuna Awardee Nayanmoni Saikia, who presented the trophies and medals to the young champions.
The tournament showcased emerging hockey talent from across districts and highlighted the growing enthusiasm for school-level sports in Assam.
