Itanagar: Four officials from the NEMCARE Group of Institutions (NGI) attended the Industry-Academia Meet 2025 held at Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The event was organised by the DBT–APSCS&T Centre of Excellence for Bioresources and Sustainable Development, Kimin, and brought together leading universities, research institutes, and industries from across the North East.
Representing NGI were Dr. Bhargab Jyoti Sahariah, Dr. Manoj Kumar Deka, Dr. Sanjib Kumar Das, and Dr. Nilutpal Sharma Bora. The meet focused on the concept of a “Finishing School” aimed at preparing skilled graduates for industrial roles.
The event saw participation from institutions such as NERIST, Assam Agricultural University, Dabur, Patanjali, and Rajiv Gandhi University. Senior officials from the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, emphasised the need for collaboration between academia and industry to strengthen the region’s biotechnology workforce.
Dr. Sahariah highlighted NGI’s training facilities, industry collaborations, and alignment with the National Education Policy 2020. He also shared NGI’s success in training over 40 students through its partnership with Dakshin Kamrup College.
NGI’s participation underscored its commitment to bridging education with industry needs and contributing to the growth of Northeast India’s biotechnology sector.
