NFR GM Lays Foundation for New Block at Netaji Vidyapith School

Guwahati: In a significant push to strengthen educational infrastructure, the General Manager of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, laid the foundation stone for an additional double-storey building with 20 new rooms at Netaji Vidyapith Railway Higher Secondary School, Maligaon, on December 12. The initiative underlines NFR’s continued commitment to creating improved learning environments across railway schools.

Alongside the new building, multiple development works are underway at the Maligaon school, including the establishment of a dedicated laboratory complex, digital library and upgraded computer lab. Facilities such as modern furniture, green and smart boards, CCTV systems, improved teacher rooms, upgraded toilet complexes, RO water units, a music room, covered sheds and auditorium enhancements are also being implemented.

Across its jurisdiction, NFR is undertaking wide-ranging infrastructure upgrades. Ongoing projects include renovation of Railway Higher Secondary School, Maligaon, development of modern playgrounds, smart classrooms and improved boundary walls, as well as construction and repair works at Dimapur Railway High School and Railway Higher Secondary Schools at Alipurduar.

Recently completed projects include major renovations at railway schools in New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Lumding and Badarpur, reflecting NFR’s sustained focus on modern, safe and student-centric educational facilities.
