Guwahati: The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) observed the nationwide “Swachhata Hi Seva” campaign with a series of plantation and cleanliness drives across its five divisions. The initiative was carried out at railway stations, offices, hospitals, workshops, and colonies with active participation from officials and Safai Mitras.
The plantation drive was held under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, symbolising a tribute to motherhood and the environment. NFR officials said the initiative reflects the railway’s commitment to building a cleaner and greener future for the Northeast.

Alongside plantations, extensive cleanliness campaigns were organised to clear waste and improve hygiene in railway premises and public areas. Teams of staff and Safai Mitras worked together to raise awareness on sustainable practices and encourage communities to maintain litter-free surroundings.
Through these efforts, NFR aims to promote ecological balance, safeguard public health, and strengthen community participation. The organisation reaffirmed its dedication to supporting the national mission of Swachh Bharat.
