Guwahati: The 79th Men and 18th Women All India Inter-Railway Boxing Championship 2025 is all set to kick start at the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Boxing Stadium from October 24 to 27. The much-awaited sporting event is being organized by the Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) at the NFR Boxing Stadium, Maligaon.
The championship event was inaugurated by Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, The General Manager of NFR, in the presence of other senior railway officials and dignitaries. The event promises to showcase high-octane bouts and spirited sportsmanship as talented boxers from across Indian Railways vie for top honours.
A total of 140 boxers, both men and women, along with approximately 50 board officials will participate in this championship. The participants represent 14 zones of Indian Railways, namely- Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), North Western Railway (NWR), South Eastern Railway (SER), South East Central Railway (SECR), East Coast Railway (ECoR), North Central Railway (NCR), South Central Railway (SCR), Northern Railway (NR), North Eastern Railway (NER), Eastern Railway (ER), Southern Railway (SR) and Central Railway (CR).

The event will serve as an important platform to identify and nurture boxing talents within the Railway fraternity, reinforcing Indian Railways’ commitment to promoting sports and fitness among its personnel. NFR takes pride in hosting this prestigious national sporting event and extends a warm welcome to all players, coaches and officials to NFRSA, Maligaon for the 2025 championship. NFRSA aims to raise the bar further and provide an exciting and competitive atmosphere for all the participants.
