The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday conducted searches at 16 locations across Assam, West Bengal and Kerala in connection with a probe into an alleged cross-border terror conspiracy and radicalisation network linked to Imam Mahmuder Kafila (IMK), officials said.
The operation covered 10 locations in Assam, five in West Bengal and one in Kerala.
According to officials, the searches form part of the NIA’s investigation into alleged radicalisation activities and suspected cross-border links involving the IMK network, which officials have described as an offshoot of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).
Investigators were examining the activities and suspected links of individuals allegedly connected with the case and were conducting searches to gather evidence related to the probe.
Further details on the specific locations searched and any material recovered during the operation were awaited.
