Biswanath Chariali: With the vision of eliminating tuberculosis and under the slogan TB Harega, Desh Jeetega, a special programme was organized today across Biswanath district under the Seva Saptah Ni-kshay Mitra Initiative for the distribution of Nutritional Food Baskets to TB patients. The programme began with paying homage to the late cultural icon Lt. Zubeen Garg.
In Behali LAC, the event was held at Srimanta Sankardev Auditorium, Borgang, in the presence of Tezpur HPC MP Ranjit Dutta and Behali LAC MLA Diganta Ghatowal, along with senior officials including the CDC, BDO, SDM&HO, DTO, DPM, DME, BPMU officials, and TB patients. On the occasion, Ni-kshay Mitra certificates were also presented to the MP and MLA for adopting TB beneficiaries.

At Kamala Kanta Natya Samaj under Biswanath LAC, Biswanath MLA Promod Borthakur, the District Commissioner, Chairman of the Municipality Board, Joint DHS, and other officials took part in the programme. Similarly, in Gohpur LAC, the distribution programme was held at Kanaklata Bhawan and attended by Gohpur MLA Utpal Borah, along with district and health officials.
It aims to provide much-needed nutritional support to TB patients, thereby ensuring better treatment outcomes and reinforcing the mission to eliminate TB from the district and the nation.
