Duliajan: The 8th Edition of the OIL INDIA Gold Cup Football Tournament 2025 continued today with the Qualifier-2 decider at the Tipling Division Playground, Zaloni Tea Estate. The match between Tea Sports Academy (TSA), Rajahali and Namrup Town Club (NTC) proved to be a thrilling match that kept the spectators captivated throughout.
Namrup Town Club took an early lead in the 10th minute when James Topno (Jersey No. 15) scored with a powerful strike. However, Tea Sports Academy quickly turned the tide. Bishal Topno (Jersey No. 7) equalized just two minutes later, in the 12th minute, showcasing the team’s resilience and attacking intent. Mahesh Puran (Jersey No. 11) then put TSA ahead with a well-placed finish in the 36th minute, before Bishal Topno added his second goal in the 44th minute, extending the lead and giving TSA a commanding 3–1 advantage by halftime.

The second half saw solid defensive work from Tea Sports Academy, who maintained composure and control to protect their lead until the final whistle. The match ended with Tea Sports Academy defeating Namrup Town Club 3–1, securing their place in the main round of the tournament.
Ruhit Murah (Jersey No. 2) of Tea Sports Academy was named Man of the Match. The award was presented by Raju Boro, Assistant General Secretary, Assam Football Association and Match Commissioner for the Qualifying Round.
Tea Sports Academy along with the winner of tomorrow’s Qualifier-1 match between Duliajan Football Academy and Mahmora Nabajyoti Sangha, Charaideo, will advance to the main rounds of the OIL INDIA Gold Cup Football Tournament 2025. The main matches are scheduled to be held at the Nehru Maidan Sports Complex, Duliajan, from October 21 to 30, where many top teams from across the country will compete for the prestigious title.
