OIL Lakshya Football League Concludes at Duliajan Nehru Maidan

Duliajan: The “OIL Lakshya 2025–26” Football League, organized under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Oil India Limited in association with the Duliajan Football Coaching Centre, concluded with a vibrant closing ceremony at the Nehru Maidan in Duliajan. The final match of the Under-15 Boys’ category, inaugurated by Duliajan Sports Association President Bulbul Gogoi, saw an impressive display from Namrup Town Club Football Academy, which defeated Barekurii FC 3–0 to clinch the championship title.

The prize distribution ceremony was attended by several dignitaries including Binayananda Bharali, Resident Chief Executive of OIL; Madhurjya Barua, Executive Director; Diganta Kumar Bora, Chief General Manager; former international footballer Swadhin Deka Raja; former national footballer Akonman Sonowal; and Bulbul Gogoi. During the ceremony, prizes were presented to winners and runners-up across multiple categories of the OIL Lakshya Blue Cubs League and OIL Lakshya Development League. Kordaiguri Football Academy and Kakopathar Football Coaching Centre emerged champions in the Under-9 and Under-11 Blue Cubs League respectively.

In the Development League, Jadu Shyam Football Coaching Centre won the Under-13 Boys’ title with Jaipur Tarun Sangha finishing runners-up. In the Under-15 Boys’ category, Namrup Town Club Football Academy were champions while Barekurii FC secured the runners-up position. In the Under-17 Girls’ category, Jadu Shyam Football Coaching Centre claimed the title and Madhuting Suryoday Sangha finished runners-up. On the occasion, Manas Pratim Sonowal, Dipunjay Moran and Dipankar Konwar were felicitated for successfully completing the AIFF D-License Coaching Course conducted under the guidance of the All India Football Federation.

A total of 40 teams in boys’ categories and eight teams in the girls’ category participated in this year’s OIL Lakshya Development League, with matches held across several venues in Upper Assam. The initiative once again highlighted OIL’s commitment to promoting grassroots football and nurturing young sporting talent in the region.
