Orang Regional Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani Honours 40 Meritorious Students for Academic Excellence

Udalguri-Sonitpur, June 22: The Orang Regional Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani, with the support and cooperation of the residents of Bagribari and Garubandha villages, organised a special programme on June 21 to felicitate 40 outstanding students from the Koch Rajbongshi community who secured distinction in the 2026 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) and Higher Secondary (HS) examinations.

Held at Bagribari Primary School in Orang, the event began at noon with floral tributes being offered to the portrait of legendary Koch Rajbongshi warrior Chilarai by Orang-based businessman Dhrutiman Baruah.

The felicitation meeting commenced at 12.30 pm and was inaugurated by Someshwar Deka, Vice-President of the Udalguri District Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani. The session was presided over by Padmadhar Deka, President of the Orang Regional Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani, while secretary Arun Deka outlined the objectives of the programme.

Dineswar Baruah, Principal of No. 2 Nalbari Higher Secondary School, attended the function as the chief guest speaker. Other prominent personalities present included Dineswar Deka, Assistant Secretary of the Udalguri District Koch Rajbongshi Sanmilani, Education Secretary Lalit Deka, adviser Mamlu Ram Deka, Orang Regional Mahila Sanmilani president Tarulata Patangia, its secretary Dipti Saikia, teacher Bhaven Saikia, state committee member Dharmeswar Boro and Anil Patangia.

The organisers said the programme was aimed at recognising academic excellence and motivating students to pursue higher goals in their educational journey. The presence and participation of distinguished guests added significance to the occasion, which celebrated the achievements of the young scholars and encouraged them to continue striving for success.
