Papum Pare Completes Enumerator Training for Census 2027, Door-to-Door Survey from May 1

Itanagar, April 28: The district administration of Papum Pare district has completed the training of enumerators and supervisors in preparation for the Census of India 2027, with officials finalising groundwork for the first phase of the nationwide exercise.

The training programme concluded on April 25 after being conducted in two phases at the sub-divisional level. The first phase was held from April 20 to 22 across Balijan, Doimukh and Sagalee, followed by the second phase from April 23 to 25 covering Balijan, Kimin and Sagalee.

According to official figures, 10 supervisors and 49 enumerators from Balijan, seven supervisors and 34 enumerators from Doimukh, three supervisors and 13 enumerators from Kimin, and 21 supervisors and 77 enumerators from Sagalee underwent training. The sessions focused on equipping field personnel for the Houselisting and Housing Census, which forms the initial stage of the 2027 census process.

Enumerators are scheduled to carry out door-to-door surveys between May 1 and May 30, collecting household-level data across the district. The exercise will involve detailed information gathering through 34 prescribed questionnaires.

Deputy Commissioner-cum-Principal Census Officer Labsang Tsering has appealed to residents to cooperate fully by providing accurate and complete information during the survey. Supporting the effort, Assistant Director of Economics and Statistics-cum-Additional District Census Officer Leleen Regon stated that the data collected will serve as a critical foundation for government planning and policy formulation over the coming decade.

Officials have also emphasised that all information collected during the census will remain strictly confidential and is not subject to disclosure under the Right to Information Act, 2005.
