Pema Khandu Inaugurates Entrepreneurship Development Institute in Arunachal

Itanagar, Feb 23: Pema Khandu on February 23 virtually inaugurated the Entrepreneurship Development Institute at Jote in Arunachal Pradesh, describing it as a significant step towards fostering a strong entrepreneurial culture among the state’s youth.

The programme featured experience-sharing sessions by beneficiaries of key central schemes, including the National SC-ST Hub, PM Vishwakarma Yojana and the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme. Participants outlined how these flagship initiatives helped transform their business ideas into viable enterprises.

Entrepreneurs who excelled under these schemes were felicitated during the event. Khandu said their achievements underscored the importance of strengthening Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to build a self-reliant and developed India. He described the National SC-ST Hub as a major intervention promoting inclusive entrepreneurship and enabling SC/ST youth to emerge as job creators rather than job seekers.

The Mega Awareness Programme, organised by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, saw active participation from aspiring entrepreneurs, students and innovators.

Emphasising that MSMEs form the backbone of the economy, the Chief Minister said empowering grassroots entrepreneurs would bolster India’s growth trajectory and contribute meaningfully to the vision of a “Viksit Bharat.”
