Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu has invited football enthusiasts to join him for a live public screening of the FIFA World Cup 2026 final between Spain and Argentina at IG Park in Itanagar in the early hours of July 20.
In a social media post on Thursday, Khandu extended an open invitation to football fans, families and friends to attend the free screening at the CM Fan Park, describing it as an opportunity for people to come together and experience the excitement of the World Cup final.
The chief minister said the event would feature more than just football, with a line-up of entertainment programmes planned for the audience. Performers will include winners of Arunachal Idol, Arunachal’s Got Talent, Super Dancer, Mr Arunachal and Miss Arunachal, adding a cultural element to the occasion.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 final between Spain and Argentina is scheduled to be played at the stadium in New Jersey, near New York City, with fans in Arunachal Pradesh set to watch the match together during the special public screening organised by the state government.
