Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 12 said Prime Minister Narendra Modi continues to showcase Assam’s rich heritage on the global stage by incorporating the state’s unique products into India’s diplomatic engagements.
In a post on X, Sarma said Prime Minister Modi presented Assam’s renowned Manohari Gold Tea to the President of Indonesia, highlighting one of the state’s rarest and finest tea varieties before the international community.
The Chief Minister recalled that Prime Minister Modi had earlier visited the Manohari Tea Estate this year, where he spent a night and interacted with tea garden workers during his stay.
Sarma said Manohari Gold Tea is produced from tender tea buds instead of leaves, making it an exceptionally rare variety known for its distinctive flavour and premium quality. He described the tea as one of the finest in the world and a proud symbol of Assam’s rich tea legacy.
