Guwahati, Feb 12: Assam BJP state spokesperson Kamal Kumar Medhi on February 12 addressed a press conference in Pathsala regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s scheduled visit to the State on February 14.
Medhi said the Prime Minister’s visit would bring multiple developmental “gifts” for the people of Assam. He informed that Modi is set to land in Moran in a fighter aircraft, and that 16 aircraft are scheduled to land on a highway on the same day as part of the programme.
According to Medhi, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the bridge over the Brahmaputra named after Kumar Bhaskar Varma and flag off 100 green buses. He added that development benefits are now reaching people without the need for agitation, asserting that there is no longer any gap between the Centre and the State governments.
The BJP spokesperson also stated that the Namrup fertiliser plant has resumed production capacity and highlighted various other development initiatives undertaken by the government.
On the political front, Medhi criticised Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi, alleging that he has failed to respond to questions raised by the Chief Minister. He claimed Gogoi was contradicting himself and challenged him to provide clear answers.
Medhi further alleged that the Congress high command is considering disciplinary action against Gogoi and claimed that, following the SIT report, there is a possibility of his arrest.
The Prime Minister is also scheduled to take part in a party programme titled “Booth Vijay Sankalp” with booth-level leaders during his visit, Medhi added.
