Police, SSB Conduct Flag March in Tamulpur Ahead of Assembly Polls

Tamulpur: In view of the upcoming Assam Legislative Assembly elections, the Tamulpur district police have intensified security measures to ensure a free, fair, and peaceful polling process in 43-Tamulpur and 44-Goreswar Assembly constituencies. As part of these efforts, the district police, in coordination with the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), conducted a flag march across key areas of Tamulpur on Saturday evening. The march was led by Senior Superintendent of Police Suman Chakrabarty and Officer-in-Charge of Tamulpur Police Station Hasthaichula Brahma.

The flag march commenced from Tamulpur Sadar Police Station and passed through important locations including Ghagra Chowk and Motonga Chowk, aiming to instil confidence among the public and raise awareness about maintaining law and order during the election period. Subsequently, similar marches were carried out in Dimilapar, Laupara, and other parts of the district by combined teams of police and paramilitary personnel.

Speaking to the media, SSP Suman Chakrabarty stated that the initiative was undertaken to ensure that the elections in Tamulpur and Goreswar constituencies are conducted in a transparent and peaceful manner, allowing voters to exercise their franchise without fear or intimidation. He also urged the public to strictly adhere to election guidelines and cooperate with authorities. Notably, since the announcement of the election schedule, Tamulpur police have been conducting round-the-clock naka checking and search operations across the district to prevent any unlawful activities and maintain security.
