Popular Assamese singer and youth heartthrob Zubeen Garg dies in Singapore

Popular assamese singer and youth heartthrob “Zubeen Garg” is no more amongst us. The sensational singer from Assam died following a tragic scuba diving accident in Singapore.

According to reports, Zubeen was not feeling well and had fallen into the sea while scuba diving in Singapore. Singapore police rescued him from the sea and rushed him to a nearby hospital. Despite being placed under intensive medical care (ICU), doctors could not save him.

He was rescued from the sea and taken to the hospital and given CPR, but the hospital authorities at Singapore General hospital could not save him. He was having breathing complications and had fallen into the sea. He left for heavenly abode at around 2.30 PM (IST) today. The 52-year- old singer was in Singapore for the North East India Festival, where he was scheduled to perform on September 20 and 21.

A representative of the North-East India Festival in Singapore told the media that, Zubeen had breathing difficulties while scuba diving.

“It is with deep sadness that we share the news of Zubeen Garg’s passing. While scuba diving, he experienced breathing difficulties and was immediately given CPR before being rushed to the Singapore General Hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was declared deceased in the ICU around 2.30 pm IST”, said Anuj Kumar Borah, the representative of North East India festival while speaking to the media.
