Rahul Gandhi on Private Visit to Guwahati today to Pay Tribute to Zubeen Garg

Guwahati: In a rare non-political visit, Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, will be in Guwahati today (October 17) to pay personal tribute to the music legend Zubeen Garg.

Party sources confirmed that Gandhi’s trip is strictly private, with no political meetings or public engagements scheduled. “This visit is purely to offer condolences to Zubeen Garg’s family and pay respect to Assam’s beloved artiste,” said a senior leader of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC).

According to the itinerary, Gandhi will arrive at LGBI Airport around 1:30 pm, following which he will proceed directly to Zubeen Garg’s Samadhi Khetra at Sonapur to offer floral tributes. He will then visit the singer’s residence in Kahilipara to meet Garima Saikia Garg and other family members.

The Congress leader is expected to spend some quiet time with the bereaved family before departing for Delhi later in the day.
