Raja Raghuvanshi Murder Case: Wife Sonam Seeks Bail, Family of Victim Strongly Opposes Plea

Legal proceedings in the murder case of Indore resident Raja Raghuvanshi took a crucial turn on December 19 with the prime accused and the victim’s wife, Sonam Raghuvanshi, moving the Shillong Court for bail. In her application, Sonam maintained that she is innocent and asserted that the allegations against her lack any factual foundation.

In the plea, Sonam stated that her married life was stable and content, rejecting the prosecution’s claims in their entirety. She also categorically denied any romantic involvement with co-accused Raj Kushwaha, clarifying that she shared a relationship with him akin to that of a brother and sister.

The bail move triggered a strong reaction from the victim’s family. Raja Raghuvanshi’s brother, Vipin Raghuvanshi, objected to the plea and alleged that Sonam’s family members are attempting to support her in a manner that could influence the ongoing legal proceedings.

Currently, four individuals, including Sonam Raghuvanshi, are lodged in judicial custody in connection with the case. Investigators have already recorded statements from several crucial witnesses, while the examination of other witnesses is yet to be completed.

The Shillong Court is expected to take up arguments on the bail application in the coming days. The outcome of the hearing is being closely followed, as it is expected to play a decisive role in shaping the future course of the high-profile murder case.
