Itanagar, June 25: Rajya Sabha MP Tai Tagak has expressed concern over the devastating flash floods and landslides that struck Yazali in Arunachal Pradesh on Wednesday, causing extensive damage and disruption across the region.

The disaster severely affected multiple stretches of National Highway-13, particularly the Hoj–Yazali road corridor, disrupting connectivity and transportation. Significant damage was also reported at the NEEPCO settlement in Possa, where several families were displaced and left facing considerable hardship.

In response to the situation, Tagak acknowledged the efforts of the district administration, police, disaster management agencies and local leadership for their prompt rescue and relief operations.

The MP urged authorities to continue closely monitoring vulnerable areas and ensure that timely assistance reaches all affected residents. He also appealed to people living along the Panyor River to remain vigilant and exercise caution amid continuing weather-related risks.

Advising against unnecessary travel, Tagak urged citizens to avoid using the Hoj–Potin road until authorities officially declare the route safe for movement.

Expressing condolences over the death of VKV NEEPCO teacher Nirmala Gupta in the disaster, the MP called for intensified search operations to trace missing persons and stressed the need to expedite relief, rehabilitation and restoration measures.

He further appealed to residents across Arunachal Pradesh to remain alert, follow official advisories and cooperate with authorities as heavy rainfall and the threat of landslides continue to affect several parts of the state.
