Ranjeet Kumar Dass Announces Zubeen Garg Memorial Park in Pathsala

Bajali: Assam Minister for Panchayat & Rural Development and Tourism Ranjeet Kumar Dass has announced the establishment of a “Zubeen Garg Memorial Park” at Pathsala in Bajali district to honour the legendary musician’s immense contribution to art, culture, and humanity.

The park, dedicated to celebrating Zubeen Garg’s creative legacy, will be developed over nearly four kathas of land in Pathsala and will feature a statue of the late artist. An initial amount of ₹25 lakh has already been sanctioned from Dass’s MLA Untied Fund to initiate the project.

Speaking on the occasion, Dass said the memorial park would serve as a symbol of remembrance and inspiration for music lovers and the younger generation, reflecting the emotional bond people of Assam share with Zubeen Garg. He urged party workers and local residents to extend their cooperation in making the project “truly grand and befitting of Zubeen’s stature.”

The development and management of the park will be supervised by the Global Artist Zubeen Garg Memorial Committee, formed to ensure the initiative stands as a fitting tribute to the singer’s timeless artistry and humanitarian spirit.

Several dignitaries attended the event, including former Aawahan Theatre producer Krishna Roy, Kohinoor Theatre producer Tapan Lahkar, DC Mridul Kumar Das, SP Suman Chakraborty, and Circle Officer Chandan Bezbaruah, all expressing their support for the heartfelt initiative.
