Nagaon: A grand reunion and felicitation programme was held at the Nagaon Govt HS Boys’ School to commemorate the 1984 batch of students today here. The event was marked by a series of dignified and heartfelt moments, bringing together former students, revered teachers, and staff members. The programme began with the alumni paying floral tributes to the departed souls of their beloved teachers. The students also remembered and paid homage to their 32 batchmates who had left for their heavenly abode.

A special felicitation was also organized to honor the teachers who had taught them during their school days. The honorees included Jibeswar Goswami, Govinda Saikia, Faizuddin Ahmed, Umakanta Medhi, Dilip Kumar Gogoi, Ganesh Chandra Phukan, Kinaram Bora, Banti Goswami Bora, Padram Bora, Navakanta Ligira, Prafulla Chandra Muktiar, Umesh Dutta Borthakur, Idris Ali Israfil, Tankeswar Saikia, Manmath Katoki, and Yogeswar Saikia. The office staff, including Jairam Kalita, Bhuban Chandra Kalita, and Ganesh Chandra Saikia, were also felicitated for their dedicated service. The event witnessed the presence of over a hundred students, who participated with great enthusiasm and discipline, making the occasion a grand success. The programme was a testament to the strong bond among the alumni and their alma mater.
