Road Blockade in Dhubri Demanding Justice for Youth’s Death

Dhubri: Tension gripped the Nuniya Patty area of Dhubri on Sunday as local residents staged a road blockade demanding justice in the alleged murder of a youth. The protest, led by family members and neighbours of the deceased, caused traffic disruption in the locality before police intervened and detained several demonstrators.

According to family allegations, on 3 November, a young man identified as Santosh Choudhury, a resident of Nuniya Patty, was allegedly assaulted by eight individuals, leading to his death. Despite the passage of nearly 15 days, the accused are reportedly still absconding, prompting rising anger within the community.

Protesters claimed that despite repeated appeals from the victim’s family, no arrests have been made so far, leading them to take to the streets to demand swift action. The demonstrators insisted on the immediate arrest of all culprits involved in the incident and accused authorities of slow and ineffective investigation.
