Samaguri, May 27: Police in Samaguri launched an operation against the alleged theft and illegal storage of LPG cylinders and recovered 14 suspected stolen cylinders during a raid at Penai in Assam.
According to police sources, the cylinders were recovered from the residence of Gulzar Hussain, where the LPG cylinders were allegedly being stored.
Police have detained Gulzar Hussain in connection with the case and stated that he is being questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.
Officials said the operation was carried out following information obtained during the interrogation of two accused, identified as Abidul Haque and Imdadul Haque, who were arrested two days earlier in connection with an alleged gas cylinder theft case reported from Amoni.
Samaguri Police stated that the investigation is continuing to determine possible links related to the theft and storage network associated with the recovered cylinders.
