Security Forces Recover Cache of Arms and Ammunition in Manipur’s Kangpokpi

Imphal, July 18: Security forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition during a search operation in the Zero Point area near Kotlen in Manipur’s Kangpokpi district on Saturday, officials said.

The operation led to the seizure of one .22 rifle with a magazine, 15 single-barrel rifles, three 9 mm pistols, one .22 pistol and five improvised mortars.

Security personnel also recovered 107 live rounds of ammunition of various calibres and 205 spent cartridge cases from the area.

In addition to the weapons and ammunition, the forces seized four Motorola batteries and one PEK during the operation.

The recovery was made as part of ongoing security operations aimed at tracing and seizing illegally held arms while maintaining law and order in the region. Officials said further investigation into the recovery is underway.
