Dhubri: Assam Police have launched a statewide crackdown against movie piracy, arresting several individuals for illegally distributing and sharing the recently released Assamese film Roi Roi Binale, starring popular artist Zubeen Garg.
Acting on Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s directive to curb piracy, police have intensified surveillance and taken prompt action against offenders.

In Dhubri district, one person identified as Asikur Rahman from the Jhagrapar area was arrested for his involvement in pirating the film. Police seized his mobile phone used in the act, and further investigation is underway, officials confirmed.
Authorities have warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found guilty of such offenses, emphasizing that digital piracy harms the state’s film industry and artists.
