Shillong Lajong FC to Meet Diamond Harbour FC in OIL Gold Cup 2025 Final

Duliajan: In 2005, Oil India Limited (OIL) started the prestigious OIL GOLD  Cup. Since 2013, football enthusiasts have waited to witness the OIL GOLD CUP Final match  at Nehru Maidan. The prestigious football tournament, backed by OIL, has been on hold since 2013.

But the wait is over for the football lovers. Tomorrow, the much coveted moment will arrive to football lovers when Shillong Lajong FC will face Diamond Harbour FC Kolkata in the finals of the tournament. It was from October 11, this year, OIL restarted the tournament. Shillong Lajong FC, consisting and depending on the North Eastern football talent, looked confident to tackle Diamond Harbour FC Kolkata. Today in an interaction meeting with journalists and the crew  Stuff members consisting of the Captains of Shillong Lajong FC and Diamond Harbour FC Kolkata organised at the OIL Welfare Office at the Nehru Maidan premises.

Shillong Lajong FC skipper Kenstar Kharsong replied in confidence when asked about his feelings on the foreign players of Diamond Harbour FC Kolkata.  We will give our best in the finals. Shillong Lajong FC skipper Kenstar Kharsong said.

On the other hand, Jobby Justin, skipper of Diamond Harbour FC Kolkata expressed his satisfaction for the field infrastructure at Nehru Maidan in Duliajan. The Diamond Harbour FC skipper was accompanied by his coach Jose Antonio Vicuna.  It may be mentioned that in the 1st Semi-Final Match of the tournament on October 27,  Shillong Lajong FC, Meghalaya beat  Oil India FC, Duliajan 1-0.

GLADDY NELCEN KHARBULI– Jersey No. 18 (117th minutes) kicked the decisive lone goal after the sanctioned time thriller. Kenstar Kharshong – Jersey No. 26, skipper of Shillong Lajong declared as the Man of the Match.

On October 28, the 2nd Semi Final Match was played between Diamond Harbour FC, Kolkata and United Chirangduar FC, Kokrajhar. Diamond Harbour FC won by 4- 1 goals to enter the finals.Samuel Lalmuanpuia – Jersey no 37 ( 17’), Jobby Justin-  Jersey 22 (2 goals), Lalliansanga Renthlei- Jersey 5- 76’ scored the goals for Diamond Harbour.  Biliphang Mochahary- Jersey no 30 (26’) of  UCDFC scored the only goal for the team.  Lalliangsanga Renthlei of DHFC was declared as the Man of the Match. Tomorrow it will be Shillong Lajong vs Diamond Harbour Kolkata. The kick off time of the match is scheduled for 5 PM.
