Gangtok: The Citizen Action Party-Sikkim (CAP-S) has vehemently denounced the vicious assault on its Vice President, Kiran Zimba, which occurred on October 13 in Rhenock. The party alleges that the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) is behind the attack.
In a strongly-worded statement, the CAP-S described the incident as a “cowardly and barbaric act” that reflects the “fear and frustration of those in power.” The party has demanded that the state government and law enforcement agencies take swift and severe action against those responsible for the assault.
“Violence has no place in a democracy,” the statement emphasized. “Such attacks are a direct threat to political freedom and public safety.” The CAP-S has also appealed to the people of Sikkim to unite against the growing menace of political violence in the state.
Kiran Zimba is currently receiving medical treatment for grievous injuries sustained during the attack. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
