Itanagar: Six athletes from Arunachal Pradesh are all set to represent India at the upcoming 15th Asian Beach Championships & Asian Open Clubs Competition, scheduled to be held at Tanjong Rhu Beach, Langkawi Island, Malaysia, from October 24 to 26.
The athletes — Tama Lindum, Choki Sumnia, Biki Yatang, Habu Bani, Mangsa Tarh, and Tamey Tadar — will compete in the men’s, women’s, and mixed 4+4 categories, showcasing their strength and teamwork on the international stage.
Currently, the Indian contingent is undergoing an intensive pre-championship training camp in Palakkad district, Kerala, as part of their final preparations before departing for Malaysia.

Sharing the update, Dolang John, General Secretary of the Arunachal Tug of War Association, informed that the Indian team will leave for Malaysia on October 23.
He expressed pride in the state’s representation at such a prestigious international event, noting that the participation of six athletes from Arunachal reflects the growing prominence of the state in national and international tug of war circuits.
The championship is expected to draw top teams from across Asia, making it a crucial platform for India’s athletes to test their mettle and bring glory to the nation.
