Six New MCLAs Inducted Into BTC to Strengthen Community Representation

Six newly nominated Members of the Council Legislative Assembly (MCLAs) have officially joined the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) government led by Hagráma Mohilary, following the Governor’s approval. The latest induction is viewed as a strategic administrative measure to ensure broader representation of the diverse communities living within the Bodoland Territorial Region.

The newly appointed members include Karmeswar Roy representing the Rajbongshi community, Ratan Chandra Rava for the Rava community, Nandalal Magar for the Gorkha community, Smt. Hem Prabha Devi for the Koch community, Ajay Kumar Hazarika for the Kalita community, and Ridip Kumar Deka representing the Sarania–Kachari community. Their inclusion is intended to further align the council’s structure with the region’s multicultural character.

According to the BTC government, the induction of these six MCLAs strengthens the council’s commitment to ensuring that various communities have an active role in shaping its administrative and developmental agenda. The decision also reflects the effort to maintain inclusive governance within the BTC framework, allowing diverse voices to contribute to policymaking and regional progress.

The nominations highlight the council’s ongoing approach of integrating representatives from multiple communities to promote equitable participation across the Bodoland Territorial Region.
