Sonowal Campaigns for BJP Candidate Naba Kumar Doley in Dhakuakhana

Dhakuakhana: Union Minister and former Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Sunday campaigned for BJP alliance candidate Naba Kumar Doley in the 77th Dhakuakhana Assembly constituency, addressing a large public gathering at the Ghilamara Public Cultural Hall. Speaking at the rally, Sonowal criticised the previous Congress government, alleging that it had neglected the development of Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts despite their cultural richness and importance as key food-producing regions of Assam. He asserted that significant progress has been achieved in North Assam since Narendra Modi assumed office.

Highlighting infrastructure development, Sonowal pointed to the construction of the Bogibeel Bridge, stating that while the Congress government failed to complete the project over 16 years, it was finished within three years under the Modi-led government, accelerating growth in the region. He further said that the Centre’s firm stance on safeguarding land, culture, and traditions has instilled a sense of confidence among the Assamese people, adding that the state is now secure.

Expressing confidence in the upcoming Assembly elections, Sonowal claimed that the BJP-led alliance would return to power for a third consecutive term. Addressing the gathering, Doley urged voters to support him once again, emphasising continued development and progress in the constituency.
