HOJAI, Aug. 6: The ‘G’ Company of the 1st Battalion, Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Sonapur organised a Mini Marathon and Patriotic Run in Hojai on Thursday as part of the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign to promote patriotism, unity and physical fitness.
Held under the guidance of Commandant Sunil Kaushik, the event was inaugurated by Inspector (GD) Mukesh Kumar Meena, Coy Commander of ‘G’ Company, and District Sports Officer Dipraj Sonowal, who flagged off the marathon.
Addressing participants, Meena said the event, organised under the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav initiative, aimed to strengthen the spirit of patriotism, discipline, unity and healthy living among the youth.
Winners securing the first, second and third positions were presented with trophies, while all participants received medals in recognition of their participation.
Meena later urged SSB personnel, local residents and youth to proudly hoist the National Flag and actively contribute to nation-building under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” campaign.
The programme concluded with participants taking a pledge to uphold the honour of the National Flag and remain committed to the nation, followed by the National Anthem and a friendly volleyball match to promote camaraderie and sportsmanship.
