Suttradhar stages ‘Son pakhili’ at Nagaon 

Nagaon: The Sattradhar, a local theatre group, staged the play ‘Son pakhili’ written by noted playwright Jyotiprasad Agarwala, at their permanent venue in Nagaon’s Kalongpar area last night. The play, which was left incomplete by Agarwala, was completed by eminent Assamese litterateur Atul Chandra Hazarika. The production was a resounding success, with the young actors captivating the audience with their impressive performances.

      The play’s storyline revolves around the journey of five friends in search of the elusive ‘Son pakhili’, a symbol of knowledge, peace, and love. The production featured a talented cast of young actors, with music direction by Arsad Masud Rahman and choreography by Gourav Kumar Hazarika.

       Prominent theatre personality Deepak Borah, who inaugurated the play, praised the efforts of Sattradhar in preserving and promoting Assamese theatre. The audience, which included notable theatre personalities Tarini Mohan Sharma, Dhananjay Talukdar, Monaj Bordoloi, Pabitra Kalita, Dharmeswar Goswami and Rajen Phukan appreciated the production’s technical aspects, including the lighting and sound design. The play’s success is a testament to the thriving theatre scene in Nagaon, with Sattradhar continuing to push boundaries and showcase innovative productions.
