Guwahati, Feb 15: Tension gripped Ralan village along the Assam–Nagaland border after a group of Naga youths allegedly attempted to attack personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), triggering a confrontation in the sensitive border region.
According to reports, several locals armed with weapons were seen engaging in a physical scuffle with CRPF personnel during the incident. Videos purportedly showing the clash have circulated widely on social media, heightening anxiety and drawing attention to the fragile law and order situation in the area.
Sources indicated that the dispute reportedly stemmed from efforts to reopen a fuel depot located in a border area inhabited by Naga residents. The depot had previously been shut down, and attempts to resume its operations allegedly faced resistance from sections of the local population, eventually leading to the confrontation.
Authorities are said to be closely monitoring developments, and additional security measures have been put in place to prevent any further escalation. At the time of filing this report, there was no official confirmation regarding any injuries or arrests linked to the incident.
