Third Search Phase Launched for Missing Jamok Pansa in Dibang Valley Amidst Snow and Rain

The relentless search for Jamok Pansa, who vanished over a month ago on September 22, 2025, continues in the remote and challenging terrain of the Dibang Valley district. Authorities have officially launched a third phase of the search and rescue operation, maintaining efforts despite a recent severe setback caused by extreme weather conditions.

The previous, second phase of the mission was forced to halt on October 26 after relentless adverse weather made any further search impossible. Officials confirmed that incessant rainfall, severely poor visibility, and heavy snowfall over the search zone were the reasons the operation was called off. The multi-agency search team—which included personnel from the District Administration (led by Deputy Commissioner Bekir Nyorak), the Indian Army, Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP), local porters, ALCs, and two trainee APCS officers—was compelled to retreat to Anini midway for safety.

Undeterred by the temporary pause, the District Administration quickly organized and dispatched a third team from Anini on October 27. This new eight-member team is now on its way towards the designated area, determined to pick up the search where the previous one left off. The administration emphasized that it is coordinating closely with all assisting agencies, committing every possible effort to locate Pansa despite the extremely difficult weather and treacherous terrain in the region.

The administration has also taken the opportunity to extend its sincere gratitude to all the participating agencies, dedicated volunteers, and local guides for their unwavering commitment and resilience throughout the challenging ongoing search mission.
