A devastating road accident in Makum, located in Assam’s Tinsukia district, claimed at least three lives early Tuesday morning after a night super bus collided head-on with an ambulance at Sukanpukhuri.
The impact left the ambulance mangled, killing three of its occupants instantly. Several others were injured and rushed to nearby medical facilities for emergency treatment. According to initial reports, the ambulance was carrying seven passengers at the time of the crash.
Authorities have not yet confirmed the identities of those who died. Police reached the accident site soon after the incident and launched an investigation to determine what caused the collision.
The tragedy has shocked residents in the area, as officials continue efforts to establish whether speed, visibility, or negligence may have contributed to the fatal crash.
