DHAKUAKHANA, Sept 19: Three youths in Dhakuakhana rescued a turtle found wandering on a road in Konwargaon and handed it over to the Forest Department, helping protect it from possible harm from passing vehicles.
The youths, Nabajyoti Borah and Prathana Chutia, students of Dhakuakhana College of Teacher Education, and Pankaj Dutta of Baruwatika village, spotted the turtle on the road and moved it to safety.
They later took the turtle to the Forest Sub-Beat Office under the Dhakuakhana Forest Division and handed it over to forest personnel.
The youths’ gesture was appreciated by people in the Dhakuakhana area as an example of awareness and concern for wildlife.
