Dibrugarh: A tragic road accident early this morning near Checha Maidam in Lepetkata claimed three lives, including that of a young woman.
According to police sources, a vehicle (registration number AS 04S 5355) carrying two men and a woman lost control while travelling along the four-lane national highway. The car skidded off the road and plunged into a roadside ditch.

The impact was so severe that the two men died on the spot. The woman, who sustained critical injuries, was rushed to a nearby hospital but succumbed on the way.
The identities of the deceased are yet to be officially confirmed.
Local police and administrative officials rushed to the accident site and launched an investigation. Preliminary reports point to overspeeding or possible driver negligence as likely causes of the mishap. Further details are awaited.
