Three Missing After Boat Capsizes in Morigaon Amid Strong Winds, Rescue Ops Underway

Guwahati, April 6: Three persons went missing after a boat capsized at Bhajakhaiti Ghat in Assam’s Morigaon district on April 6, officials said.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred when strong winds lashed the Moirabari area, causing the boat to lose balance and overturn mid-river.

Rescue teams have so far managed to save around 15 passengers from the water.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing, with personnel from the State Disaster Response Force and staff of Velloguri Police Station deployed at the site. However, the three missing individuals were yet to be traced at the time of the latest update.

Authorities said efforts are continuing to locate the missing persons.
