Three suspected members of insurgent outfits were arrested during separate operations in Imphal East and Imphal West districts of Manipur, officials said.
The arrested individuals were suspected to be associated with the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) and the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK).
Security personnel also recovered a cache of arms and ammunition during the operations in Imphal West. The seizures included eight SBBL rifles, a 9mm pistol with a magazine, a large quantity of ammunition, hand grenades and walkie-talkies.
The arrests and recoveries were made as part of ongoing security operations aimed at curbing insurgent activities across the state.
Further investigation is underway to establish the alleged involvement of those arrested and determine their possible links with wider insurgent networks.
