Agartala, Feb 21: The Office of the Election Commissioner for District Council, Tripura has released the official schedule for the draft and final publication of electoral rolls in preparation for the upcoming General Election to the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council in 2026.
As per the notification issued from Agartala by Manoj Kumar, IAS (Retd), Election Commissioner for District Council, the draft electoral rolls for all constituencies under the District Council will be published on February 27, 2026. After the release of the draft rolls, stakeholders will have until March 6, 2026 to submit claims and objections.
The scrutiny and disposal of claims and objections have been scheduled for March 10, 2026. The final electoral rolls for all constituencies will subsequently be published on March 13, 2026.
The notification specifies that the electoral rolls for the District Council constituencies will be prepared based on the final electoral rolls of the State Assembly constituencies published by the Election Commission of India on October 1, 2025.
Authorities have further clarified that the entire process of roll preparation will strictly adhere to the provisions laid down in the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (Constitution, Election and Conduct of Business) Rules, 1985, ensuring procedural compliance and transparency in the run-up to the 2026 polls.
