AGARTALA: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha highlighted measures to strengthen fire and emergency services and promote women’s economic empowerment during a programme in Agartala.
Saha said a new fire brigade station was inaugurated virtually, while three more stations were ready for inauguration in the coming days. He also emphasised the role of the Fire and Emergency Services Department, particularly its drivers, and said 16 drivers had been provided to strengthen the department.
The Chief Minister also highlighted initiatives to promote women’s self-reliance. He said more than 300 women across four zones had been trained and provided with sewing machines to support their livelihoods.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s emphasis on women’s empowerment, Saha said the state government would continue implementing initiatives to create greater opportunities for women and help them become economically self-reliant.
He said such programmes would be expanded further as Tripura continued efforts towards women-led empowerment and stronger emergency services.
