Agartala, May 21: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on May 20 launched the first virtual edition of the ‘Mukhyamantri Samipesu’ programme, introducing a district-based outreach mechanism intended to strengthen direct communication with citizens and improve grievance redressal across the state.
The programme was inaugurated virtually from Agartala, with the first district-level interaction conducted with residents of Dhalai district. Senior officials, including the District Magistrate, Chief Medical Officer, doctors and representatives from different departments, participated in the session to address issues raised by citizens.
Speaking during the launch, the Chief Minister said the initiative would now be organised district-wise to make the grievance redressal process more accessible for residents outside the state capital.
Referring to the earlier format of the programme, Saha said it had largely catered to people from Agartala and surrounding areas and that the administration had decided to expand the outreach model to ensure wider participation across districts.
He said the government intends to gradually extend the virtual programme to all districts and subdivisions of the state in the coming phases.
According to the Chief Minister, 35 individuals took part in the first district-level interaction, of whom 30 belonged to the Janajati community. The issues brought before the administration covered a range of sectors, including land disputes, education, healthcare, higher education and financial assistance.
Saha said officials had been directed to follow up on all complaints and ensure that necessary support and action were provided within a reasonable timeframe.
He also noted that the participation of district-level officials allowed for quicker responses and enabled the administration to issue immediate instructions on several matters raised during the interaction.
Describing the initiative as an innovative approach to governance, the Chief Minister said the programme was designed to improve administrative accessibility and strengthen engagement between the government and people, particularly in remote regions of the state.
Senior officials, including Health Department Secretary Kiran Gitte, along with departmental secretaries, directors and other officers, attended the programme in the presence of the Chief Minister.
