Tripura Launches ‘Yoddha’ Portal for Anonymous Reporting of Social Issues

The North Tripura district administration has launched the ‘Yoddha’ web portal to encourage public participation in tackling social issues by enabling residents to report incidents anonymously while ensuring complete confidentiality.

The portal allows citizens to confidentially report cases related to child marriage, drug abuse, domestic violence, child labour and other social concerns without disclosing their identities.

North Tripura District Magistrate Chandni Chandran said the initiative is intended to encourage people to actively contribute to curbing social evils by providing information in a secure and confidential manner.

Welcoming the initiative, Chief Minister Manik Saha said the state government would consider introducing the model in other districts if it delivers positive results.

“If the ‘Yoddha’ appears successful, we will urge the other district magistrates to follow the concept to address the unaddressed problems of the people,” Saha said.

The chief minister also referred to the Mukhyamantri Samipeshu programme, through which he recently heard the grievances of around 26 people from North Tripura district. He said resolving public issues requires direct engagement with citizens and cannot be achieved by remaining confined to Agartala.

Mukhyamantri Samipeshu is a weekly grievance redressal programme in which the chief minister interacts with members of the public in the presence of senior officials and directs departments to address their concerns. Following its positive response, the initiative has now been expanded to the district level.

The district administration said the Yoddha portal also provides confidential access to counselling and medical treatment for individuals battling drug addiction, safeguarding their privacy throughout the process. Officials said the initiative aims to foster a safer and more responsible society by encouraging citizens to play an active role in identifying and addressing social challenges.
