Tripura Minister Kishor Barman Represents State at National Water Summit

Tripura Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman represented the state government at the two-day Departmental Summit on Water organised by the Ministry of Jal Shakti at Sushma Swaraj Bhavan in New Delhi.

Union Jal Shakti Minister C R Patil chaired the summit, which was attended by ministers, secretaries and senior officials from the Centre and various state governments.

Discussions focused on water conservation, sustainable management of water resources, drinking water security, rejuvenation of water sources and effective implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission.

Barman shared Tripura’s experiences, achievements and challenges in the water sector and participated in discussions on adopting best practices from other states to strengthen water resource management and ensure safe and reliable drinking water supply across the state.

The summit also provided a platform for participating states to exchange ideas and discuss strategies to address emerging challenges in water management.

Barman emphasised that protecting and preserving water resources was a collective responsibility and reaffirmed Tripura’s commitment to the ‘Har Ghar Jal’ vision and the goal of building a water-secure and prosperous India.
