Tripura Transfers 47 Police Officers in Major Administrative Reshuffle

The Tripura government has ordered a major reshuffle in the state police department, transferring four Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and 43 Tripura Police Service (TPS) officers in a move aimed at strengthening policing and improving administrative efficiency.

According to a notification issued by the General Administration (GA) Department, Unakoti Superintendent of Police Sudhambika R has been posted as Superintendent of Police, Cyber Crime. She replaces Nabadwip Jamatia, who has been appointed Commandant of the 15th Battalion of the Tripura State Rifles (TSR).

The reshuffle also saw Sankar Debnath take charge as Superintendent of Police, Economic Offences, while Priyamadhuri Majumder was posted as Superintendent of Police, Vigilance Organisation, replacing Jeremia Darlong.

Darlong has been transferred as Commandant of the Counter Insurgency and Anti-Terrorists (CIAT) School in Dhalai district. Meanwhile, Kishan Kumar, who previously headed the CIAT School, has been appointed Superintendent of Police of the State Crime Records Bureau (SCRB).

In another significant posting, Additional Superintendent of Police of the Special Branch Chandan Saha has been entrusted with additional responsibility as Superintendent of Police of the Mobile Task Force (MTF), the unit responsible for identifying and detaining illegal infiltrators.

The government has also appointed Pannalal Sen as the new Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Sadar subdivision, replacing Debaprasad Roy. In his new role, Sen will oversee policing and law-and-order management in Agartala city.

The transfers form part of a wider administrative exercise undertaken by the state government to enhance operational effectiveness and strengthen the functioning of the police force across Tripura.
